Day 4: MVP Design
Xu Zhixing stares at 4-5 detailed interview notes and asks: "Which pain point do I start with?"
Day 4 Overview
Day 4 is the second wall. The 5-beat formula:
- Problem scene: 5 high-frequency pain points all look real
- Zhou Wangpu's method: lean-canvas 9 cells + "cut everything non-essential" (5 knives) + admits "I drew 5 cells wrong in 2008"
- Mo Xiaozhai demo: Auto-fills lean-canvas but stalls on cell #7 (cost structure) — "I don't have data"
- Deliverable:
lean-canvas.md(5 pain points cut to 1 + 9 cells filled) - Next day: Design 90-day experiment from the MVP
Key Quote
"9 cells — getting 1-2 wrong is normal, getting 5 wrong is survivable. As long as cell #3 (Unique Value Proposition) is clear in one sentence." (9 格子,1 个都不能错——但人不是神,错 5 个是常态——只要第 3 格'独特价值主张'一句话说清。) — Zhou Wangpu
"The 9 cells are a filter, not a fill-in-the-blank. Cells you can't fill are your blind spots." (9 格子是过滤网,不是填空题——填不出来的格子,就是你还不清楚的盲点。)
Today's 3 Takeaways (placeholder for full translation)
- lean-canvas 9 cells: Problem / Customer Segments / UVP / Solution / Channels / Revenue / Cost / Metrics / Unfair Advantage
- 5 knives to cut pain points: keep only the pain point with 5+ 9-point mentions
- Zhou Wangpu's 2008 lesson: he drew Channels (offline bookstores) / Revenue (ads) / Metrics (signups) / Unfair Advantage (tech) all wrong
